Mamalicious Monday

Today Alexis got new rain boots. I hope we get a rain day soon so we can go walk in it and splash in the puddles. While driving to the store we got stopped at a red light. I waved my fingers at it saying green, green ,green and then I said "turn green now," of course it did and Alexis got really excited and started clapping. She Exclaimed with fists in the air "You did it Mom!" She was very happy. I just couldn't help but to laugh! Love this kid! Check out this site for a contest that ends today!

We had such a good time going on a double date with Tyler and Christina! Christina called me and asked if we would be game for a scavenger hunt. I thought it would be fun. So Saturday Christina and I went and hid the clues and their little treats. It took us 1 hour and 30 minutes. We sent the guys out and then hid 2 more clues. We went to Ikea and got some cute things for Alexis and Ella's rooms. We waited forever for them at the restaurant. It took them 3 hours to finish and we finally got to eat at almost 10pm. We really enjoyed getting to know the Goff's better and love having them as friends! Thanks for inviting us.

Alexis's new toy

We did so good at avoiding the throw up bug that was going around. We haven't done so good with the cold bug. Alexis is snotty and coughing. She at least slept all night long. I bought Hyland's Calms Forte from Fred Meyer. It is just supposed to help her relax and calm down, it is not a sleep drug. So far it has work the first night...maybe just a fluke though. Alexis got a pop up tent and 100 balls to go inside Yesterday. We took it to mom and me lunch to share, although Alexis was so tired and cranky that she didn't want anyone in it even if she was doing something else. After her nap she shared just fine with Evana. So I rearranged her room so that she could play with it when ever. She loves it. I will take a picture later. This was what she got with our income tax return! Lucky girl, I would have loved to have had a tent to play in. All we had were milk crates we stacked up in circle! It worked great for playing pioneers though, lol. Good times.

Catch phrase

Alexis has caught on to the hip way to say no:

No Way

It is pretty cute, at least way more cute then just no!

This way mom

She tells me which way we should go while driving or walking in the store.

I be right back

Says this when ever she leaves the room.

She honestly is giving me glimpses into the future of life with a teenager. It is scary. She is very bossy to her friends and has to be reminded to share her toys. She tells her friends

Don't touch it

At least I know she hears me when I tell her that. Haha caught her! She actually sat in the stroller for the entire 2 mile walk today. Usually she climbs out or if I buckle her she screams and slides down until her feet are dragging and I give up and let her out. That then slows us down so we might as well have stayed home. Anyways we went to the trail today and it must have been changing enough or the howling, freezing cold wind paralyzed her! It was so cold, I wish the wind would have been blowing on our way out because we would have turned around. I didn't wear a jacket just a long sleeve shirt (big mistake, it took me 3 hours to get warm again!) Well I need to crash, I am roasting 30 lbs of red potatoes tomorrow for the big Relief Society dinner! Fun, fun for me and I am babysitting 3 kids from 2-6!

New Table

So maybe this picture doesn't do it justice, but this is our new dining room table. It is perfect for our little area. I love it, Britt hates is oh well. I have no clue why the text is underlined like that but who cares. This table is solid oak, and is really pretty. Can't wait to eat our first meal on it.

New sleeping attire

Last night Alexis had an interrupted sleep due to daylight savings. She didn't want go back to sleep so I told her she could play in her room, but she could not come out. I got her a snack and a cup of water(it had been about 5 hours since dinner). I laid down in her bed and she played and spilled water on her pj's so of course had to change them. I didn't see what she put on and so when she got up this morning this what she was wearing. Silly girl. She is sad because Little Mermaid shirt doesn't play music anymore.

It snowing again. We have a few inches and it is still coming. It is supposed to stop later today. Well I guess March is not going to let spring slip in to early. I just really want warm weather. I may be whining but here in Washington we like our mild weather and the occasional snow flurry is fun and exciting. We have had snow seriously every week this winter. We better have a nice summer.

Post-op update

Alexis is such a crack up lately. Especially now that she is talking better. We had high hopes of the surgery helping her, but it has exceeded our expectations. She says things so clear now and is using 6 word sentences. It is great to be able to have conversations with her. She has been playing the help me card a lot. She will lay on the floor reach her hand out and say "helpa me" it is really funny because she can't ever reach me so she says "I can't reach your hand." She then stands up and grabs my hand and says "I got your hand." Before her surgery she would jabber and then get bored with playing because I didn't respond the way she wanted. Well I usually had no clue what she was doing. I can tell her to talk quietly and she does now. The biggest change is Britt can understand her. He would always need translation from me and now he doesn't. She hears snippets of what people say at the store and repeats them, not always the best thing. I hope preschool is better for her now. She has learned triangles, squares and circles and she knows what A is. Love seeing her progress and interact, she is so smart and now she can really show it. Life just gets better and better.
